About Luke

“Discovered” by Scottish group Shooglenifty in 2002, Luke Plumb has earned a global reputation as a leading exponent of Celtic mandolin. In addition to his fiery tune playing in that context, he has toured and recorded with Andy Irvine, performed with Martin Hayes and continues to push the use of the mandolin in Irish melody playing through his solo projects. As a teacher, he has taught Irish Mandolin and song arrangements on bouzouki at music camps in the UK, US and Australia. His particular focus in accompaniment has been focused on the use of counterpoint from players such as Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny.
