About Oisin
A graduate in Music Education from Trinity College Dublin, Oisín initially began playing fiddle in Clare at a young age, and over time developed a deep interest in the playing style of the Sligo region, having lived there since 1989. Founder of the internationally-renowned group Téada in 2001 , Oisín is also a regular solo performer and recently published ‘Fiddlers of Sligo Tunebook’ with fellow-Sligo musician Daithí Gormley. Oisín has toured frequently in recent years with noted singer/accordion-player Séamus Begley and his wife Samantha Harvey (piano/dance). Oisín also works as Director of SCT, the Traditional Irish Music Examination System administered by Comhaltas.
