About Seán
Seán Earnestś sensitive and eclectic musical stylings have taken him far from his native central Pennsylvania. Having cut his teeth in the NYC Irish music session scene, Seán has toured extensively throughout North America and internationally with artists including his own critically-acclaimed instrumental ensemble The Yanks, Sligo trad supergroup Teáda, iconic Irish-American vocalist Cathie Ryan, the legendary McPeake family of Belfast, Scottish progressive folk group The Paul McKenna Band, music & dance troupes ‘Women of Ireland’ and ‘Celtic Angels’, et al. Additionally Seán has accompanied luminary figures of Irish music including Martin Hayes, John Carty, Mary Bergin, and Billy McComiskey. He has recorded with The Yanks, flutist Laura Byrne, accordion and fiddle player Damien Connolly, and fiddler Andrew Finn Magill. As an educator Seán has taught for over a decade in private practice as well as on the faculty of prestigious intensive music camps including the O’Flaherty Retreat, Catskills Irish Arts Week, Augusta Irish Week, Baltimore Trad Fest, and Goderich Celtic College. Seán divides his time between the northeast USA and Ennis, Co. Clare, where he has spent the last 4 years teaching and performing nightly. He holds a Master’s degree in Irish traditional music performance from the University of Limerick.
